October Fun with Granny Great!!!

We just wanted to take a moment and let our grandma know how much we love and appreciate her. She has been so wonderful in helping with Paityn this last month. I am going to school full time and working part time. Cody works full time and with the holidays he is working more hours. I couldn't do this with out the help I have from my grandma and grandpa. They are amazing. Paityn is learning so much from them that somedays I wonder how she got so big so fast. I wish I could take a day or two and just slow everything down and enjoy it all over again. This was the first time Paityn got to go to a pumpkin patch and pick her own pumpkin. She wanted to put them all in her wheel barrel. I had to explain a few time we don't need that many pumpkins. We let her paint one and help carve the rest. She loved playing in the pumpkin insides.

Dear Jack:

I am writing this to help me get through one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. My beloved friend and best dog ever had to be put to rest 2 days ago. I know he is in a better place but I feel like I need to express my love for him. 6 months ago we found out that Jack had a tumor growing on his nerves in his shoulder. I thought he was doing better when we got him on some medication. He was putting weight back on and eating again. I went home to visit him and thought he just didnt look fat he had something going on in his abdomen that made him gain so much weight so fast. we took him to the vet and sure enough his chest and stomach was filled with fluid. The vet said he had a heart condition and it wasnt pumping right so the fluid was just getting backed up into his chest. He could breath very good and we knew we had a tough decision to make. I am not sure if what I thought was for the best actually is but I felt at the moment that I didn't have any other choice. I have never lost a pet I was so close to and never thought it would happen so soon. I am so sorry I wan't there for him as much as I should have been. I was working to get him back home to us and thought I had a little more time. Jack was very much loved and missed for the last year. I will never forget him and all the joy he brought to our family.

I love you Jack and will never forget you. You are the best.

Planting Flowers with Granny Great

Paityn and I helped granny great plant some flowers. Well when Paityn felt the potting soil she was not impressed. She hated being dirty and the smell was even worse she hated it. So mommy ended up doing all of it. But that was my first flower planting experience.

Zoo Fun!!!

On Sunday Cody, Paityn and I spent the day at the zoo with all the other tons of people. But we had a great time. Paityn really likes the rhinos of all things and they weren't even there sh was so disappointed. Now we have to go back just for the rhinos.

Life

I have been meaning to get on and post some new things but life happens. I had the great honor to take care of my wonderful great grandma, Granny J, in the last days of her life. I know it sounds weird but I am so grateful for the chance to help her in any way possible. I love her and am going to miss having her around. Paityn is potty training so I feel like I am always taking her potty. I hate potty training and will be so happy when this is all finished. I have pictures to post but can't figure out this stupid computer. I will put them on soon. I am planning on going back to school in Aug. So life will only get more crazy. I promise to get better at posting.

A New Adventure!!!

Si I know its been a while but alot has been going on so I have been pretty busy. My family and I have made a big move and left St. George for Salt Lake. I know its right in time for the winter but we are in for an adventure. Cody is working at Dans and I am helping my grandparents. Paityn is learning to help my grandma when ever she forgets her crutch. We welcomed a new addition to our family in November. Steven Kye Barker. Angel our foster daughter had her son and he is a cute and happy baby. Since we have moved Angel has since been moved to a new home. She loves her new foster grandparents, Dave and Jill Lukes. Angel moved in with my parents and is learning to adjust quite well.

I would just like to take a chance to say thank you to all that helped with our big move. We couldn't have done it with out you. I owe you all allot more then you know. I love and miss my family but hope this move will be a good expirience for my family. I will post pictures soon and update more!!

Summer Fun!!!

I haven't posted since May so I decided that its time I put a few pictures and say what we have been up to. This summer has been one of the most fun but also the most tireing. I knew toddlers where hard but I was not prepared for all of Paityns energy and tantrums. We went to the park the other day and Paityn was playing on the rocks and this lady walked by with her kids and Paityn looks at the lady and says "move". So needless to say we are now learning how to say excuse me. Paityn is lucky enough to play with her cousin Miridyan on Fridays, well Miridyan probably doesn't feel quite as lucky. Paityn has learned that if she doesnt' get what she wants then she pulls hair. Pore Miridyan is losing her hair, and she doesn't have much to begin with.
We have kept busy this summer with going to the park, the washington county fair, and Daddys Hot August Nights at Lins. Paityn loves to go on carousels and see cows. When we were at the fair this year they have those little fair rides that they put up. Ok well I hate them. I just don't think they are that safe. But Daddy insisted that we put Paityn on these cars. I was very nervous. Not only are the fair people a little scary but they rides are way dirty. and on these cars you can't ride with the child so she would be going by herself. I could have sworn she hated it and would want off as soon as it started going. Oh no, not my girl. She loved them. She is getting way too big way too fast. Codys work had this fun night with bounce houses and a train last night and she wanted to ride the train. I was just a little nervous because if you can't strap her in then she tends to climb out when the vehicles are in motion. This train had no way of strapping them in. But Paityn suprised me again when she sat there and held on the whole time. I am a very proud mommy. She is amazing.
I think the saddest part of the summer has been when I had to have emergency surgery and the nurse put me in a wheel chair and wheeled me back to a room in the ER. Paityn was with Cody but she watched the nurse wheel me away and cried because she couldn't come with. She knew where I had gone and knew if she could get thru the doors she would find me. Thank goodness grandma and papa came and took her to their house for a sleepover.
